Four More Days!!

Hey Everyone!

Just 4 days left until I report to Miss Texas...how exciting!

I wanted to show everyone what I've been up to lately! Of course, the usual working out, eating right, pageant preparation, etc. However, this last weekend, I had the opportunity to sing with God's Country Kids at the Whataburger Grand Opening in Frisco, Texas.

Me with Nikki Sue Green, a Texas National Lone Star Princess and LONGTIME friend (I've known her since she was at LEAST 3!)

Alannah Bruce!

Cooling off inside with the Whataburger Man

After the Whataburger Opening on Saturday, I performed at The Wylie Opry. I do this every month and the Wylie Opry and Wylie, Texas have become my home away from home. A special thanks to EVERYONE at the Wylie Opry who donated to my Children's Miracle Network Fund. Thank you for always supporting me in my journey to becoming Miss Texas, but also for supporting children's health initiatives.

On Sunday my AMAZING Daddy and I went out for Father's Day to the Granada Theater to see Wade Bowen and The Randy Rodgers Band for an intimate acoustic set. It was so cool, and it was a really nice Father's Day surprise for him! This is us post-concert.

Stay tuned for updates during Miss Texas Week!

Alley Cats

The Miss Texas Organization was asked to participate in an event at Alley Cats in Arlington along with Radio Disney. Several girls showed up to volunteer their time to talk to kids, compete in a hula hoop contest (ooops sorry, no pictures to show for that!!) and signing autographs. We had a great time and it was really nice to see so many pageant friends. It was even nicer to share stories of how nice it would be to eat even just ONE cookie. This desire was only augmented by the WONDERFUL smelling food at Alley Cats! Here are a few pictures from tonight's event. Enjoy!

The Daily Grind!

Wow, social networking has REALLY changed in the last few years! I'm really glad that I have the opportunity to share my experiences as I prepare for my 5th year of competing for the title of Miss Texas! I've always like the number five.... maybe my 5th time is a charm! :)

My days are very hectic, with only 17 more to go until we arrive at the pageant. I woke up at 6:45a.m. for my morning workout and was at work by 8 (which is where I currently am writing from... I have a SHORT break). I am currently working for Summer Conferences at UT Arlington and am THRILLED that Miss Texas will be on MY college campus this year! I have fallen in love with UTA in the 4 years I've been here... I hope this summer everyone else can see how great it is as well. I especially hope that those teen contestants who are currently weighing their college options consider UTA after visiting the campus (Yes, I'm always plugging my Alma Mater... I need intervention).

Arlington is also dear to my heart because my oldest love (other than Winnie the Pooh) lives in Arlington... The Texas Rangers! To make a long story (A VERY LONG STORY) as short as possible, as long as I can remember, I have been a Rangers fan. My very first crush was #34 himself, Nolan Ryan. So you can understand how cool it was for me to sing at the Rangers game last night! In my eyes, there is no bigger honor than singing our National Anthem for my favorite team. I've also never been this nervous! I will post pictures of me ACTUALLY singing later, but for now, here are some pictures of my supporters who came out to watch me :)

First, here is a picture of little Cristie... I was ALWAYS a fan!

Me and My BIGGEST supporter (and fellow Rangers fan!), my Daddy.

A "down the row" look at my family. There's Janet on the phone, Miss Grace enjoying the game, and my Mee-Maw.

A special thanks to the Miss Arlington director, Rebecca, along with Baseball Diamonds for letting us visit her suite! This is my fabulous director, Beaux, and me relaxing in the box.

This is Ryan and me representing UTA with the bright orange baseball cap. I'm turning him into a Rangers fan!

And finally, a side of the ballpark VERY few people get to see... This was my holding area before I sang.

More updates and pictures to come!
